Daykin Family Law

Our Process

Our team is here to guide you through the process, explain the law, and your options in a simple, direct and easy to understand way. You will always know what to expect as our team creates a clear pathway throughout your legal journey with us.

Book an Initial Consultation

Book a consultation with one of our lawyers by calling us on 07 3852 5490 or reaching out through our contact form. Your consultation can be in person at our Fortitude Valley office, by video conference or by phone depending on what is convenient for you. Our one hour consultation is always a fixed fee of $385 (GST inclusive), however, extended appointments can be offered when there is material you wish us to review in detail prior to your initial consultation.

Initial Consultation

We’re highly effective at what we do so an hour is usually enough time for us to get across your concerns and needs, and hatch a plan to move forward to achieving your goals on a preliminary basis. From here, we advise on the process and the law applicable to the elements of your matter and how to best achieve your goals. During your one hour consultation, we will address any urgent or high risk concerns. Some steps may need to be taken promptly in order to protect a person, a business, property or assets.

Initial Deposit and Formal Cost Agreement

We ask for an initial amount to be deposited into our trust account which is confirmed during your initial consultation. We also issue a Costs Agreement and Disclosure Notice which is to be electronically signed and returned to us before we commence work.

Work Commences

We will expertly navigate you throughout your matter, tailoring advice, guidance and support to suit your unique legal circumstances. We are proactive and work with you at each step.

Ongoing Advice and Action

Providing confidential advice with effective representation, we want to resolve your matter as quickly and cost efficiently as possible, whilst always making ourselves available to you for advice as required. We treat your matter with care and professionalism, ensuring the best possible outcome for your needs. We strive to provide focused direction at each step of your matter, moving towards your final goals.

Finalising Your Matter

This is when an agreement between the two parties has ideally been reached, for example, a joint application for Consent Orders, Binding Financial Agreement, Binding Child Support Agreement and/or Parenting Plan. In some matters, litigation may be required until either an agreement is reached or a final Court hearing is held.
